ABOUT LUIS EFIGÉNIO
I began my photography career in 2003 as a photojournalist, working with leading Portuguese publications and international news agencies including Reuters, The Associated Press, and Agence France-Presse. I continued working in photojournalism for more than 15 years, covering stories and developing a visual language grounded in storytelling and curation.
From 2013 to 2015, I also served as Editor-in-Chief of “Sim, Aceito”, a Portuguese wedding blog, where I developed and curated editorial content focused on weddings, photography, and the people and ideas shaping the industry.
Since starting into wedding photography in 2009, I have documented more than 350 celebrations across Portugal and Europe. My editorial background continues to influence the way I approach weddings.
Specializing in destination weddings, my work has taken me across Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.
My photography has received international recognition, including a Top 25 Worldwide ranking by the WPJA and a place among BodaF’s Top 25 emerging wedding photography talents in Europe.
What sets me apart
-
Curation Obsessed
I have a trained eye for identifying distinctive imagery, compelling stories, and the details that make a wedding truly memorable.
-
17 Years of trends
After 17 years immersed in weddings, I’ve witnessed trends evolve firsthand and learned to recognize what feels fresh, timeless, and genuinely relevant.
-
Editor mindset
Years working with brilliant photo editors, leading a wedding blog, and constantly curating my own work have sharpened my editorial instinct.
-
Time to Commit
I now photograph just 10–12 high-end weddings a year, giving me the time and availability to commit for the part time editor job.
Let’s create something meaningful together.
